The mass production of furniture is one of the most difficult industrial processes to manage and control. The two most important “process inputs” are human labour and the raw materials that are converted into furniture. In each case a human being, a tree or even the animal that yielded a leather hide is a living biological being unique and considerably different than all others in its class.

With this diversity as the starting point the challenge is to create many pieces of furniture that are the same over days, months and often years of production.

O-Palier is convinced and is indeed founded on the value of evolution over revolution in our design process and as importantly in our business relationships. We have witnessed and we have experienced the great waste, inefficiency, losses and terrible product quality that are the by product of the revolution approach where a store, importer or even a manufacturer switches source of supply because the price, delivery and quality are not quite right.

WE KNOW THAT THE COSTS OF CHANGE ARE NOT FACTORED IN TO THESE DECISIONS AND THAT LEARNING CURVES AND RISKS WHICH ARE APPRECIABLE ARE USUALLY OVERLOOKED.

Our integrated approach is to work through challenges, make changes which improves the result and ensure we are better tomorrow than we were yesterday. For this reason, the O-Palier supply chain is stable and involves only one capable manufacturing partner and a long term commitment to positive evolution.

O-Palier works exclusively with a very few, manufacturing partners. These relationships are the result of many years of working together and ensures a supply chain that is stable, refined, cost efficient and responsive. Together with our manufacturing partners we have been able to remove duplication, establish quality standards in our supply chain and therefore reliably and cost effectively deliver design, engineering, quality control, logistics and risk management services to our retail partners.

Our partners are modern, multi-site, diverse manufacturers of wooden, metal, marble and upholstery furniture, often using these material in combination. Additionally, these partners are heavily invested in modern, numeric equipment which reduce the labour cost and material waste helping to ensure consistency and precision in the final product

We are proud to also note that our manufacturing partners are models of social responsibility, working conditions and waste reduction all of which reduce the social and environmental footprint of our activities.

Our manufacturing partners are certified under the International Standards Organization (ISO) management standards system.

Our manufacturing partners are certified for quality management (ISO 9001), a standard which addresses what an organization does to fulfill customer quality requirements as well as applicable regulatory requirements while aiming to enhance customer satisfaction and pursue continual improvement in the performance in the pursuit of these objectives.

Our manufacturing partners are also certified for environmental management (ISO 14001), a standard that addresses what an organization does to minimize harmful effects to the environment caused by its activities and to achieve continual improvement of its environmental performance.
